Asgardian Gods Be Pimpin: Another Thor Pic

9 Comments

If you’re wondering if it sucks to be an Asgardian God, the answer is “No”, it’s actually pretty swanky, as it turns out. Check out a new picture from Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor”, a movie that will either be really, really awesome, or painfully campy to watch. At this point, I’m completely and totally undecided. The pics sure don’t look very

Thor spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Starring Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Ray Stevenson, Rene Russo, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Clark Gregg, Colm Feore, Tadanobu Asano, Adriana Barraza, Joshua Dallas, Matt Battaglia, and directed by Kenneth Branagh.

    Finally, sheesh I bet Marvel saw how many fans were asking what's going on with the characters not wearing helmets. This is the response plus it looks like Thor has his helmet in one hand and Mjolnir in the other. LOKI LOOKS AWESOME!!! So does Fandral!!!

    @vampelle
    “Thor’s father Odin decides his son needs to be taught humility and consequently places Thor (without memories of godhood) into the body and memories of an existing, partially disabled human medical student, Donald Blake.”

    well, thor do have human counterpart

    i worried on few things. is the helmet scenes only few?
    so far i dont see that Thor have a human counter part.
    unless i forgotten all about Thor comics i ever read

    The persona of Donald Blake is not in this film. It's just Thor de-powered too a more human level and yes having no memory of his Godhood and Asgard may be a factor.

    As much of a fan of Thor as I am, I actually like that they're not going the DOnald Blake route right away. It may happen at the end of the movie or something with Thor asking to have a trully human body when not being Thor. But hey if they don't and they just want him depowered out of costume, he could still take the name. Or Jake Olsen (one of the other names he had).

    Okay after seeing the closeups (or as close as we can get) I love Loki's helmet! I love the Crows on either side of the throne, I love the fact that Hogun looks Japanese with some of the sci-fi flair they've given to the costumes, and I love the way Fandral looks. I'm guessing this is when he gets banished.

      This isn’t norse mythology, this is Marvel’s version of the character. That’s what the movie is based on, the comics.
