Jade Beauty Jingchu Zhang

Zhang Ziyi who? Okay, so maybe you won’t forget who Zhang Ziyi is very soon (she is, after all, a heck of a beautiful woman), but fellow Chinese actress Jingchu Zhang is going to give it one heck of a try. Like Ziyi, Jingchu has already expanded out of her native China to Hong Kong films to European films with the Finnish movie “Jade Warrior”, and now she’ll be seen in the upcoming “Rush Hour 3″. As a plus, she can also speak English much better than Ziyi, which should bold well for a potential Hollywood career should she decide to pursue it. Frankly, I’d prefer it if she stayed out of Hollywood; that place can chew people up and throw them out without mercy, and they’ll just end up stereotyping her as a maid or evil villainous anyway.

Zhang Ziyi at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Gala

It’s been a long time since we posted any pictures of gorgeous Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi. Which is a crying shame, as a woman as beautiful as Zhang Ziyi should be posted every day, every hour, every minute. And failing that, she should be posted at least once a month. Anyways, here’s Ziyi at the recent Metropolitan Museum of Art Gala, where everyone who is everyone was present to show off their glorious dresses. They ain’t got nothing on Zhang Ziyi.

Harry Potter’s Girlfriend Katie Leung

Saying that you got your big break as Harry Potter’s girlfriend in the Harry Potter movies is like saying one day God decided to smile down on you and handed you a movie career on a silver platter. No matter what happens to Katie Leung after her stint as Cho Chang in the “Potter” movies, she will always have a movie career from now til the end of time. There’s nothing quite like being a pivotal part of a successful movie franchise. Sure, she may end up getting typecast in fantasy movies, but hey, work is work, right? Here’s Katie Leung, a Scottish Chinese actress who was raised in Glasgow, Scotland, where her family ran (of course) a Chinese restaurant.

Qi Shu at the 26th Annual Hong Kong Film Awards

The only thing missing from “The Transporter 2″? Qi Shu. That’s right. I don’t know why she didn’t return, I thought her character had a thing with the main character from the original. But oh well. It’s not like Qi Shu hasn’t been busy; she took over the lead in the “My Wife is a Gangster” franchise with part 3, and did the Mainland Chinese horror movie “Forest of Death”. In 2007 she’s got “Blood Brothers” in the works, and her 2006 crime thriller, “Confession of Pain” is currently being remade by Hollywood (so what else is new, right?). Here’s Qi Shu at the 26th Annual Hong Kong Film Awards.

A Kelly Hu Bikini Moment

It’s still unknown if Kelly Hu’s ABC sitcom “In Case of Emergency” will make it through its first year, or if it’s been cancelled after only 13 episodes. I’m guessing it’s the latter, because I haven’t heard a thing about it for a while now. Which is a shame, because seeing Kelly Hu on TV once a week was a great thing. Anyways, she’s still got a movie career going, and I’m sure she’ll land on her feet easily enough. If anything, “In Case of Emergency” will probably convince people that she can play more than just the “dragon lady” stereotype in movies. Here’s a Kelly Hu bikini moment.

Maggie Q. at the Asian Film Awards

If you’re going to have a film awards called the “Asian Film Awards”, and try to make it the Asian equivalent of the Oscars (good luck there, chief!), you better invite one of the most gorgeous Asian women working in Asian films (and Hollywood!) today. That would be Maggie Q., in case you didn’t know. With films like “Mission Impossible 3″ and the upcoming “Live Free or Die Hard” on her resume, Maggie Q. should probably start going to more Hollywood parties than Asian ones. But hell, we’re glad she’s anywhere, especially looking this fine.

“The Banquet’s” Zhou Xun

You could be forgiven for forgetting that there were more than one very pretty Chinese women in Zhang Yimou’s costume epic “The Banquet”. After all, with Zhang Ziyi in the cast, it’s hard to notice anyone else. But fellow Chinese actress Zhou Xun probably still made an impression on you anyway, being both young, very pretty, and in more ways than one, a spitting image of Zhang Ziyi herself. Zhou Xun has been working steadily ever since 1996, when she brust onto the scene with “The Pampered Wife”, and continues to thrive with the big-budget, high-profile movies “Perhaps Love” and now, “The Banquet”.

Asian Supermodel Jarah Mariano

It’s not everyday I get to use the words “Asian” and “Supermodel” in the same sentence, but I’m able to do that when making this post about the gorgeous Jarah Mariano, an Asian-American supermodel with Hawaiian, Korean and Chinese blood in her. Besides having done work for Armani Exchange, Sephora, Abercrombie & Fitch, and PacSun, she’s also slipped on the lingerie of and walked the runway for Victoria’s Secret. She currently lives in New York, and graduated from Pace University.

Zhang Ziyi at a Pre Oscar Party

Any pictures of the gorgeous Zhang Ziyi is a cause for celebration, and frankly, I really don’t need any reasons to post her. But in any case, here’s the Chinese butterfly at a Pre-Oscar party. I’m not sure where, or when, but I’m guessing it was pretty hot, Zhang being there and all. Although I’m not digging the dress. What is the deal with the layered dress? Hum. Besides that, though, Zhang Ziyi is looking fabulous on Sunday.

Gong Li in “Hannibal Rising”

Chinese superstar Gong Li will be making her third appearance in a major Hollywood movie when she stars in “Hannibal Rising”, the prequel to the “Silence of the Lambs” and “Red Dragon”, on February 9th, 2007, when the movie is released. In the film, a young Hannibal finds help in Gong Li’s character when he searches for the war criminals who murdered his family. Expect a lot of gore, cool killing, and Gong Li looking good throughout. Hey, at least she doesn’t have to wear those breast-hugging corsets ala “Curse of the Golden Flower”, right?

Kelly Hu at the Disney/ABC All-Star Party

I hate to say it, Kelly Hu fans, but judging by the lack of buzz or talk surrounding Kelly’s new ABC sitcom “In case of Emergency”, I’m going to guess that the show isn’t doing very well, which usually translates into an early exit from the network’s airtime. Meaning all you Kelly Hu fans should tape all those “In Case of Emergency” episodes while you still can, because I don’t think you’re going to get the chance later on. Sorry, guys, but that’s network TV for ya. Here are some new Kelly Hu for ya.

Lisa Ling

Lisa Ling used to be on “The View” during the good ol days — you know, before they let the Loudmouth Behemoth (aka Rosie O’Donnell) loose on that poor show and its poor, poor audience. Lisa, a Chinese-American, is now host of “National Geographic Ultimate Explorer”, which takes her all around the world doing actual journalistic work, and has appeared on Oprah. By the way, why did she leave “The View”? Apparently because co-host Joy Behar is a racist beeyatch. What is up with that show? Didn’t O’Donnell just totally insulted Chinese people a few days ago?

Kelly Hu “In Case of Emergency” Promo

A single image of Kelly Hu promoting her new sitcom “In Case of Emergency”. I know, Kelly Hu and a sitcom? Hmm, I’ll definitely have to check this one out just out of curiosity. What’s it about? “A group of thirtysomethings who all went to the same high school are reunited and realize their lives didn’t turn out as planned.” It’s supposed to be a comedy, I think. It co-stars David Arquette, Jonathan Silverman, Lori Loughlin, Greg Germann, and Nicholas Roget-King. Well at least they’re not making Kelly do martial arts on the show, so she’s definitely stretching her acting muscles.

Chow Down with China Chow

I guess you can call British-born China Chow’s career in Hollywood something of a disappointment. After what should have been a break-through role in 1998’s “The Big Hit” with Mark Wahlberg, China has had some bit parts in movies, guest starring roles on TV shows like “That 70s Show”, and did voice work for the “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” game. You know your career has hit bottom when you are forced to do crappy Creature Feature movies like “Frankenfish”. It’s too bad, because China sure had a lot of promise coming out of “The Big Hit”…

Gong Li in Taiwan

Is there any wonder they call Zhang Ziyi “Little Gong Li”? You put the two of them side by side and ask them to smile and you’ll think they were twins. In any case, here’s the beautiful Gong Li in Taiwan promoting her upcoming Chinese epic “Curse of the Golden Flower”. In the film, Gong re-teams with longtime collaborator Zhang Yimou for his third martial arts epic. I’m still a little shock that Yimou, known primarily for small Chinese dramas before “Hero”, keeps churning out these epics again and again.

“Bones’” Michaela Conlin

One reason to watch Fox’s hit show “Bones” is for Chinese-Irish actress Michaela Conlin, who plays Angela on the show. Okay, so the show isn’t all bad, either. It’s actually pretty damn good, with some great stories and character interactions. But where was I? Oh right, Michaela Conlin is also in it. And she’s quite cute.

Zhang Ziyi in iLook Magazine

Zhang Ziyi’s latest epic martial arts movie “The Banquet” seems to be doing well enough in Asia, but it’s looking doubtful that the movie will do as well in the International market. For one, it’s kind of a crappy movie, even if it does look absolutely fantastic, and I thought Zhang Ziyi’s performance was quite good. Still, the movie bored the crap out of me. Anyways, here’s Zhang Ziyi in iLook Magazine, which I’m assuming is a Chinese magazine by the Chinese writing. What’s the deal with the last picture, though?

Michelle Yeoh at the “Casino Royale” Premiere

Former Bond girl Michelle Yeoh (she was in “The World is Not Enough” with Pierce Brosnan) at the premiere of the new James Bond movie, “Casino Royale”, which stars the latest Brit to take over the 007 mantle, Daniel Craig. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but Craig looks like a pretty decent Bond. Plus, he’s got that raw, gritty feel about him that Pierce Brosnan never had. In fact, I always thought Brosnan’s Bond was a little too gay-ish.

Gong Li at the “Curse of the Golden Flower” Premiere

Mainland Chinese superstar, and recent Hollywood movie star Gong Li at the AFI premiere of her new big-budget Chinese epic, “Curse of the Golden Flower”. What’s it about? “The ill-fated romance between an imperial bodyguard and a prince takes the lovers on a dangerous journey where royal family secrets are revealed.” The film co-stars fellow Chinese superstars Chow Yun Fat and Jay Chou of “Initial D”, and is directed by Yimou Zhang, who also did “Hero” and “House of Flying Daggers”, so you know it’s going to look great and be spectacular.

Kelly Hu Hotness Overload

Quite possibly some of the most gorgeous pictures of actress Kelly Hu I have come across. And no, she’s not even naked. Well, actually, she’s topless in a couple of photos, but nothing is showing. And you know what? That makes it even more sexy. Plus, there are a lot of really great close-up shots of Kelly Hu’s lovely face. That smile of hers is captivating, indeed. You can never get too much of Kelly Hu.
