Asian Supermodel Jarah Mariano
It’s not everyday I get to use the words “Asian” and “Supermodel” in the same sentence, but I’m able to do that when making this post about the gorgeous Jarah Mariano, an Asian-American supermodel with Hawaiian, Korean and Chinese blood in her. Besides having done work for Armani Exchange, Sephora, Abercrombie & Fitch, and PacSun, she’s also slipped on the lingerie of and walked the runway for Victoria’s Secret. She currently lives in New York, and graduated from Pace University.
eTalk Daily’s Tanya Kim
I guess I always knew that Canada has a lot of Asian people (Grace Park is one), but I’m always surprised when I come across them. It’s nothing against Canada, but you just don’t think “Asian” when you think “Canada”, know what I mean? Anyways, Korean celebrity Tanya Kim is the co-host of Canada TV’s “eTalk Daily” with some guy name Ben Mulroney. She’s a a classically trained pianist and dancer, and if some forum posts are any indication, Tanya isn’t really that popular with her Canadian viewers. Oh well, we like her anyway.
Lee Hyo-ri is Calvin Klein’s “Pure Muse”
Gorgeous South Korean singer and all-around bombshell Lee Hyo-ri has been chosen by Calvin Klein Jeans’ “Pure Muse” model for 2007. I have no idea what a “Pure Muse” model does, but I’m assuming it involves a lot of modeling…jeans. Then again I could be wrong. Lee Hyo-ri will also be in the March issue of Bazaar Magazine, so if you’re a fan, run out and get that. A couple of the Calvin Klein ads are below, along with some additional Lee Hyo-ri goodness.
“Lost’s” Yunjin Kim in Maxim 2007
Yunjin Kim has been a favorite Korean actress of mine for a long time now. She’s very talented, and she’s got that kind of sad, sad face that makes her just perfect for melodramas. Thank God for “Lost”, or Western audiences might never have known about Yunjin Kim. Here she is in the latest 2007 issue of Maxim looking goooooooood. Not just “good”, but “gooooooooood”.
Michelle Kwan Bikini Pictures
During the 2006 Winter Olympics, American’s skating sweetheart Michelle Kwan was supposed to finally get the Olympics monkey off her back and breakthrough onto the gold metal stand. Alas, it didn’t happen, but — um, where was I? Oh yeah, here’s California’s own Michelle Kwan in a poolside bikini photoshoot. I’m not even sure if Michelle is still skating professional, and I don’t really care. I mean, when was the last time I watched ice skating? Exactly. But I sure would like to see more of this Michelle. Hubba hubba!
Jeon Ji-Hyun Sells Beer
Or maybe it’s tea. Or maybe some kind of lotion in a bottle. Not entirely sure, but what I am sure about is that Jeon Ji-Hyun is quite the hottie pitchwoman. Jeon hasn’t been doing a whole lot since her pan-Asian bomb “Daisy”, but here’s hoping that she can still break through the International market and hit it big time. Then again, maybe she should ditch this whole acting thing and go do modeling full time. She certainly has the chops for it.
“Raines’” Linda Park
Post-”Enterprise”, there hasn’t been a new “Star Trek” show on TV since. Luckily for one of its stars, Linda Park has landed another show on NBC called “Raines”, starring, of all people, Jeff Goldblum. Yes, that wacky Jeff Goldblum. Linda’s character is named Sally Lance, a Police Detective. Going by the name, it sounds like her character won’t be ethnic-specific, which is good, because I’m so tired of Hollywood casting Koreans as Japanese and vice versa. Can’t they all just be actors? Anyways, here’s Linda at the NBC Summer 2006 TCA Party from a few months ago. Catch “Raines” when it airs on NBC.
Grace Park at the SpikeTV Scream Awards
Basic cable channel SpikeTV will be premiering its “Scream Awards” show tomorrow, where you can catch an eclectic group of babes, including “Battlestar Galactica’s” Grace Park, in attendance. No idea if Grace won anything, or if she was even nominated, or even what the heck the Scream Awards is for (I’m assuming…horror?), but here are some pictures of Grace at the event. I could do without the funky hat, but that midriff bearing shirt is nice.
Grey Anatomy’s Sandra Oh
Korean actress Sandra Oh has been in some pretty good movies (”Sideways”) and TV shows (”Arli$$”) — okay, maybe not “Arli$$” — but it was ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” that made her famous, in which she plays Dr. Cristina Yang that catapulted her into superstardom. Good for her. Here’s Sandra Oh in Instyle Magazine.
Yunjin Kim at the “Lost” Season 3 Premiere
American-Korean actress Yunjin Kim at the “Lost” Season 3 premiere. I know what you’re thinking, “What, they have premieres for TV shows nowadays?” Apparently yes. This one was probably held in Hawaii (where the TV show is shot), but don’t hold me to it, I’m just guessing by all the sand and, well, the beach setting where they’re holding the premiere. In any case, Yunjin Kim looks nice, if just a tad too thin…
Grace Park in KoreAm Magazine
“Battlestar Galactica’s” Grace Park in KoreaAm Magazine, which I think is for Korean-Americans. Although curiously, Grace is Canadian, but I whatever — close enough, right? At least it’s North America. Hey, maybe that’s what the “Am” stands for? Probably. Or not. Does it matter? Grace Park looks smoking here.
Yunjin Kim in Stuff Magazine
A smoking hot spread of Yunjin Kim in Stuff Magazine. As expected, and owing to the success of Kim’s show “Lost”, the spread’s theme is all about sand and beaches, which isn’t such a bad thing, as it means we get to see more of Yunjin in a bikini frolicking about. And beautiful women frolicking about on sandy beaches is a very good thing indeed.
Grace Park in Audrey Magazine
An absolutely gorgeous, stunning, and all the other things you want to call her, Grace Park in the latest issue of Audrey Magazine. If there is even one reason I’m even waiting anxiously for the latest season of “Battlestar Galactica”, it’s because of Grace Park. Take a look at these pictures and tell me you’re not looking forward to the depressing as hell sci-fi show, too.
Yunjin Kim in Arena Magazine
Beautiful Korean “Lost” star Yunjin Kim is slowly but surely making a major name for herself among American audiences, and this appearance in the latest issue of Arena Magazine is going to help tons. I can’t say as if I’ve ever seen Yunjin look this good, even in her Korean movies, but wow, put me on that island!
Grace Park in “Battlestar Galactica” Season 3 Promos
I think you’ll agree with me: the longer Grace Park stays on the show “Battlestar Galactica”, the more beautiful she looks. I don’t know if she’s just maturing into an amazingly beautiful woman, but wow, she looks fantastic in these “Battlestar Galactica” Season 3 promotional pictures. Let’s just say I’ll be tuning in come Friday night.
Boa Kwon
Boa Kwon (or BoA as she’s also known) is probably the world’s most famous singer that you have never heard of. That is, unless you live in Asia, then you’ve probably not just heard of her, but you probably also have all her CDs, been to her sold-out concerts, and anxiously await everyone of her new music videos. This Korean pop princess has done just about anything and everything in Korea, Japan, and most of Asia. So what’s left? Total global domination, baby! Well, maybe.
Yunjin Kim on the Late Show with David Letterman
Or actually, it’s “Lost’s” Yunjin Kim arriving to do the Late Show with David Letterman talk show. How gorgeous does she look in a slinky silk dress? David Letterman is a lucky bastard to get to sit across from this beautiful woman for an interview. People don’t really know this, especially in America, but Yunjin is a very popular movie star in South Korea.
Hyori Lee in Black and White
Some gorgeous black and white pictures of the lovely Korean pop singer Hyori Lee, who recently had a spat with Britney Spears about a song and how they sounded the same and other garbage. No matter. I’d take Hyori Lee over Britney any day of the week and then some.
Michelle Wie at the Pro-Am HSBC Tourney
Hawaiian/Korean teen golfing sensation Michelle Wie at the Pro-Am HSBC Women’s tourney. A couple of pictures of Michelle doing some photoshoots, followed by a round of practice golf. Damn that’s a lot of green!
Michelle Wie at the 2006 U.S. Open
A blue-clad Michelle Wie taking part in the 2006 Ladies U.S. Open, where she came in third, just shy of claiming her first crown on the pro circuit. The Hawaiian-American-Korean teen made quite a showing regardless, and looked quite good doing it, too.
