eTalk Daily’s Tanya Kim
I guess I always knew that Canada has a lot of Asian people (Grace Park is one), but I’m always surprised when I come across them. It’s nothing against Canada, but you just don’t think “Asian” when you think “Canada”, know what I mean? Anyways, Korean celebrity Tanya Kim is the co-host of Canada TV’s “eTalk Daily” with some guy name Ben Mulroney. She’s a a classically trained pianist and dancer, and if some forum posts are any indication, Tanya isn’t really that popular with her Canadian viewers. Oh well, we like her anyway.

Canadians don’t like her much because she comes across as being very fake on TV – you get absolutely no sense of her personality, it’s very unnatural! But they also feel the same way about her co-host, Ben Mulroney. I’m sure their personalities shine when they’re not in front of the camera, but on e-talk Daily, they come across as a bunch of brainwashed mannequins! This would be in comparison to other major Canadian TV show hosts such as (Chinese-Canadian) Sook Yin Lee who was very honest and sincere when she was a VJ/host on Canada’s Much Music in the 90’s.
On another topic, another Korean-Canadian star is Sandra Oh. She’s also from the same province (Ontario) that Tanya Kim’s from.
Lisa is right about Tanya (and Ben) appearing to be plastic on screen, rather than real people (there are hosts on the Canadian Business News Network who have more personality); however, Tanya at least has nice legs. In fact, I think the only reason to watch etalk Daily is to see Tanya’s legs; and I think the producers know this since they keep dressing her in short skirts and dresses, even in the dead of winter. Sometimes, I think she can look like a bit of a dragon lady, but at other times she can look quite pretty.
BTW, I don’t think the pictures here really do Tanya justice. To begin with, the way they’re framed completely obscures her best feature and the dress she’s wearing obscures her figure; I also don’t like the way she has her hair here.
I would love to know who the designer is of the green dress Tanya wore the other night, anyone?
I disagree about Tanya being plastic. One reason why I adore her is her personality. She obviously enjoys herself, unlike others who just smile and read what is in front of the. She is the only the reason I watch shows like that. And, yes, she is beautiful,. One of Canada’s most beautiful. (Along with Gabrielle Miller.) That face and those legs ….. I can’t get enough. Long live Tanya Kim!!!
A month or so ago, she was on location wearing an incredible yellow bikini. I would love to get a picture of her wearing it. HOT!!! But all of my searches have come up empty.

As the other comments reveal, Tanya is on TV for one reason — she’s one spicy Asian hottie with a NAUGHTY hot body! That girl looks smokin’ hot in a bikini….and I bet even hotter out of it!!!
Very ignorant and insulting comment about Canada. Canada is a diverse nation! We come from backgrounds all around the world. Many Asians (of Chinese descent particularly), have settled in Vancouver and have been in Canada since the 1800s. And Asians overall are the LARGEST ‘visible minority’ in Canada. When you think Canada, you should think of a diverse nation, not some stereotypical thing you have in mind of what Canadians are.
can’t agree more anonschooler! i live in T.O but grew up in Calgary and most Canadians do view ourselves as very multicultural and it is common knowledge to ourselves that we are generally made up of many different ethnic backgrounds. It is very surprising to hear ‘you just don’t think ‘Asian’ when you think Canada.’
