Indonesian Singer Anggun

| February 19, 2008

I have no idea who Anggun is, other than that her name is sexy as hell, but here’s more about her from Wikipedia: “Anggun Cipta Sasmi is an Indonesian singer/songwriter with French citizenship. Her name means “grace born of a dream” in Bali. Having already had tremendous success in her homeland Indonesia since she was 12, she decided to pursue an international career and left Indonesia in 1995, when she was only 19. After a year in London, she settled in Paris, France and met producer Erick Benzi, who later helped her sign a record deal with Sony Music France and recorded her first French album, Au Nom de la Lune, in 1996. The album was released in 1997 and spawned a hit single, “La neige au Sahara.” She re-recorded the album in English and it produced her biggest worldwide hit single to date, “Snow on the Sahara.”" Now you know.

Maggie Q. Promotes Three Kingdoms

| February 18, 2008

My prediction is that by the time Maggie Q.’s new movie, the Chinese action epic “Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon” arrives in the U.S. and other English-speaking areas, they’ll be promoting this as starring Maggie Q., and pretty much that’s it. That’s how big Maggie Q. has become around here, and just a measuring stick for how big she’ll keep getting. In any case, here’s Maggie Q., co-star Andy Lau, and Sammo Hung promoting “Three Kingdoms”. I’m really looking forward to this movie; it has the makings of being extremely good.

Brenda Song in Wendy Wu Promos

| February 15, 2008

Brenda Song is probably the only Asian on the Disney channel that I can recall. Sure, every now and then they probably have an Asian guest star, but I’m almost 100% sure that Brenda Song is the only Asian on the entire channel, which is pretty damn pathetic if you think about it. Anyhoo, at least they’re giving Son a lot of work to do. Here she is in some promos for her made-for-TV original movie “Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior”. Next she can be seen in “College Road Trip”, a Walt Disney movie starring Martin Lawrence.

Jarah Mariano in 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

| February 12, 2008

Her name is Jarah Mariano, she’s one of the first Asian supermodels out there, and she’s just about to hit the big time. Her ticket? An appearance in the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue — her very first appearance in the prestigious magazine that creates superstars out of everyday models. Well, now it’s Jarah Mariano’s turn, and wow, here’s her entire Sports Illustrated gallery, two-piece bikini included. And just in case you were wondering, Mariano is definitely Asian (as if you couldn’t tell), and is of Hawaiian, Korean, and Chinese descent. Welcome to the big time, Jarah!

Asian Fitness TV Host Kiana Tom

| February 5, 2008

I’m usually not a fan of women with too much muscles, but Hawaiian born TV fitness babe Kiana Tom sure does it for me. She’s not only a former Los Angeles Raiders cheerleader (is that good or bad? the Raiders are a pretty awful team), she’s also parts Chinese, Hawaiian and Irish. She’s actually taller than she looks — about 5′6″ — and although I could do without the big fake chest she’s showing off, well, she is pretty damn hot, and that rack — fake or not — certainly looks damn good on her. For a 40-something gal, Kiana Tom sure looks damn good. If she had kids (I don’t know if she does or not), she would certainly qualify as a MILF.

More Zhang Jingchu Movie Promos

| January 13, 2008

More movie promos featuring Chinese actress Zhang Jingchu, or Jingchu Zhang, as her name can also be written. Chinese people write their last name first and first name second, which is why Zhang (Jingchu’s last name) comes first when you usually see it spelled. Anyways, if you have never seen an Asian movie, you might know Zhang Jingchu from her appearance in “Rush Hour 3″ — she played the really cute Chinese girl who Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan had to rescue. She’s been in a ton of movies, including “Seven Swords”, “Jade Warrior”, and the drama “Peacock”. These promos of Zhang Jingchu are from two of those movies.

Lucy Liu in Kill Bill Promos

| January 4, 2008

If Chiaki Kuriyama inserted some much-needed Asian face to the very Asian-themed Kill Bill movies, then Lucy Liu was the unheralded star of the franchise. Not only did she actually looked natural swinging a Samurai sword around (Uma Thurman looked good, too, but you could tell she had to REALLY work at it), but she just looked damn good throughout the movie. Here are some Kill Bill promos of Lucy Liu doing what she does best — looking deadly and ubert hot at the same time. Who can pull that kind of balance out? Lucy Liu can, that’s who.

Chiaki Kuriyama Kill Bill Promos

| January 4, 2008

Sure, Uma Thurman kicking all kinds of ass was one of the real treats of Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” movies, but for my money the best part was watching the tiny Japanese babe Chiaki Kuriyama swinging a heavy metal mace around like noone’s business. In the movie, Chiaki Kuriyama played the simply fabulously named Gogo Yubari, a killer Yakuza girl in schoolgirl uniform and a killer smile. Seriously, quite possibly the best part of the movie was when Gogo went toe-to-toe with Uma Thurman’s The Bride character. Great stuff, indeed. Here are some promos of Chiaki Kuriyama from “Kill Bill”.

A Younger Maggie Q.

| December 20, 2007

Even before she became the Hollywood sexpot that she currently is, Maggie Q. was still looking pretty good “back in the day”. She wasn’t an actress then, but was just a model coming up in the world, which invariably meant bikini photoshoots and modeling gigs waist deep in a swimming pool. That’s where these bikini pictures of Maggie Q. comes from — her old modeling days. She doesn’t look quites as vivacious and smoldering hot than she currently is now, but even back then you could see the spark that would one day mature into the Maggie Q. that we all lust — er, I mean, love today.

Tokyo Singer Model Actress Sawajiri Erika

| December 10, 2007

So who exactly is 21-year old Sawajiri Erika? Here’s a short bio from Wikipedia: “Her alias in her music career was Kaoru Amane, but she has recently started her own project under the name Erika. She is currently affiliated with Sony for her record label as formerly Kaoru Amane and later Erika, and Stardust Promotion for her talent agency as her real name, Erika Sawajiri, and became popular after playing a girl who suffered from an intractable disease called spinocerebellar degeneration (SCD) in the nonfiction drama ‘1 Litre of Tears’.” Got all that?

More Tang Wei is a Good Thing

| November 27, 2007

Is Taiwanese actress Tang Wei the next big Chinese import to America? I don’t know, but it’s going to be pretty damn close, because the woman seems to have it all — looks, acting chops, and a major hit (and critically acclaimed, which is twice as good) movie to her credit. And yeah, she looks like a million bucks dressed in red at the 11th Annual Hollywood Awards. How smoking hot is Tang Wei? Does the word “unfathomably smoking hot” mean anything?

Taiwan Pop Princess Jolin Tsai

| November 24, 2007

I’m not sure if Taiwanese pop princess Jolin Tsai is our first Taiwanese on the site, but she might very well be. And hey, if you have to start off the site with a Taiwanese representative, why not someone of Jolin Tsai’s caliber? She’s a mega successful artist, and is considered one of the most successful and popular singers in the Mandarin music market, aka mandopop. Tsai most recently got the chance to work with Aussie superstar Kylie Minogue, which apparently was one of her dreams. Me, I’d like to do more than just “work” with Kylie, but hey, I’m a guy and I don’t necessarily think with my brain, if you know what I mean, and I think you do.

Korean Car Babe Sun Hee Yoon

| November 23, 2007

I have almost no idea who Sun Hee Yoon is except two things: She’s Korean, and she does something involving cars. I don’t know what that “something” is, but I don’t think it’s going out on a limb to say that she’s not a grease monkey. Unless, of course, the Koreans have hotter grease monkeys than the fat, stinky guys that works over here. Doubtful, but hey, hope springs eternal, right? Anyhoo. I’m not sure how famous Sun Hee Yoon really is over in Korea, but she’s famous enough for us to justify putting her here, so here she is and here she will stay. Voom voom, anyone?

Gong Li is Soaking Wet, But Still Hot

| November 18, 2007

We haven’t seen a whole lot from Gong Li in a while, which is a crying shame as she still remains one of the most talented and, of course, sexiest Chinese actresses currently prowling the International cinema stage. After a stint in Hollywood, Gong Li’s reputation has grown even more. I’m still not sure about her English, but hey, YOU try speaking Chinese after speaking English all your life, and tell me how good your Chinese would be. Yeah, that’s what I thought. Now enjoy some Gong Li in a very wet photoshoot. Sexy as hell, I’m telling you, the woman is just gorgeous.

Caution: Don’t Fall in Lust with Tang Wei

| November 15, 2007

Get ready for the whirlwind that is Tang Wei, the latest Chinese movie star who is currently bursting onto the International stage thanks to her starring role in Ang Lee’s Lust, Caution movie. Just as Ang Lee made Zhang Ziyi world famous, it’s no shocker that he’s going to do the same thing to Tang Wei, whose sex scenes in Lust, Caution has been a point of major controversy around the world and back again. And just to put in perspective how great she was in Lust, Caution, remember that it was not just her first starring role, but it was her FIRST ROLE period. Now THAT takes some talent! You gotta love Ang Lee. This guy knows how to pick leading ladies!

More Maggie Q.

| November 12, 2007

How could you ever get too much of Maggie Q.? Answer, you can’t. So keeping that in mind, here are even more Maggie Q. for your Maggie Q. pleasure. So where is our lovely Maggie at right now? Apparently it’s the 14th Annual Lint Roller Party presented by Best Friends, which has to do with dogs, or something. I’m guessing it has to do with dogs by the dog paw prints on the background there. Then again, it could be a foundation for Michael Vick, who knows. As long as Maggie Q. is there, it’s all good, right?

Lee Hyori Shooting a Commercial in New York

| November 1, 2007

You know, I have a couple of friends in New York that, when I finally see them again, I’m going to kick their asses, because Lee Hyori was recently in New York to shoot a commercial (for Korean TV, I’m guessing) and neither one of those dummies emailed or phoned to tell me. If I had known, I would have rushed right over on the redeye for a personal meet and greet. Well, anyways, here’s Lee Hyori on the set of the commercial. I don’t know if she’s applying her own make-up, or if that’s part of the commercial. Man, I hope they’re not letting a major Korean star apply her own make-up out in public!

Linda Park in The Women’s Murder Club

| October 20, 2007

So Linda Park’s TV show Raines, which I personally thought was one of the best new shows on TV this year, has since ben canceled by NBC (damn you, NBC!), but Linda has already found a new job on the ABC show The Women’s Murder Club. I saw the premiere episode, but I don’t recall seeing Linda Park in it. Maybe her character comes in future episodes, because IMDB.com lists her as having five episodes in the show, and since there are promos of her around, I’m guessing she’ll job the “club” that is featured in the show. Basically, a bunch of women solves crimes, etc.

Hyori Lee GGPX New York Ads

| October 17, 2007

You know I love me my Hyori Lee. So here’s a series of GGPX New York ads that Hyori Lee was the star in. I’m not sure what GGPX is, or what they sell, but I’m reasonably sure it has something to do with clothes. Sexy clothes, if their pitchwoman is Hyori Lee. You can’t say Hyori Lee without adding the word “sexy” next or before it, because let’s face it, there’s not all that many women in South Korea that looks as good as Hyori Lee in any type of clothes (or without).

Maggie Q. at Breaking The Ice Fundraiser

| October 14, 2007

I’m not sure what the heck the “Breaking The Ice” fundraiser is (I’m guessing it’s a fundraiser called “Breaking The Ice”, but beyond that? No idea.), but Maggie Q. attended the festivities, and if Maggie Q. was there, then we’re happy to post it. Although, after looking more at the background in the pictures, it appears that this is a fundraiser for some kind of conversation program. Hey, she’s hot and she wants to save the world? Now that’s my kind of girl!
