Ask a Ninja Guys to Remake Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!

Written by Nix | March 11th, 2008 | 0 Comments |

Yup, you heard it correctly. Kent Nichols and Douglas Sarine, the guys behind the web series “Ask a Ninja” (where a guy in a ninja uniform answers questions on video, invariably ending up talking about how he’ll kill the guy asking the questions) are set to remake the 1978 “cult” classic “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!” (exclamation mark theirs). They’ll rewrite the script and Nichols will make his directorial debut with the flick.

More:

M. Dal Walton III, the force behind the remakes of “Day of the Dead” and “Terror Train,” acquired the rights from Killer Tomato Entertainment and will produce. Emmett/Furla Films will co-produce.

” ‘Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!’ is the masterwork of a generation,” Nichols said. “We can only aspire to recapture that magic.” No changes to the original plot have been revealed, but it still is expected to revolve around killer tomatoes.

Wow. A remake of a movie about killer tomatoes. Hurray for Hollywood?
