Well there goes my fantasy of Samuel L. Jackson once again saving a bunch of civilian passengers on a doomed airplane, because news has Liam Neeson in negotiations to board (literally, in this case) the plane-set thriller “Non-Stop”.
Described as “a contained, gritty action thriller”, the film would find Neeson playing an air marshal who must leap to the rescue when something or rather happens on the domestic flight he’s guarding. A terrorist takeover, perhaps? Apparently the film’s plot is being heavily guarded, which reeks of trying too hard to be secretive. Or as I like to call it, “Pulling an Abrams.”
At this point, though, the film is looking like another “Die Hard in a … [Insert your preferred mode of transportation to be taken over by bad guys/terrorists here]”. It joins similarly “high-concept” (or is that “regurgitated concept?”) films like the two “Die Hard in the White House” movies, the Gerard Butler-fronted “Olympus has Fallen” and the Roland Emmerich-directed “White House Down”.
What we do know is that Jeff Wadlow (“Cry Wolf”, “Never Back Down”) will direct for Dark Castle, from a script by John Richardson and Chris Roach.
