Strange comment, I think this is a fantastically interesting movie, the 1983 remake is also awesome.

If that is your good idea of Japanese cinema you are missing out on a lot of excellent film. Not everyone into Japanese cinema is in their early 20s.

Of all the films I have seen over the past 10 years, this one definitely sticks around.

I saw The 1983 version. In 1983. It was stunningly beautiful and I’ve never forgotten it.
