Dwayne Johnson has been set to star in the comic book movie “Lore” for some time now, and if all goes according to plan, he may have a director in “Men in Black’s” Barry Sonnenfeld, who is said to be “in talks” to direct the action film.
The plot of “Lore” is nothing special, especially since TV has been doing it for a few years now on shows like “Once Upon a Time” and “Grimm”. Hell, “The X-Files” and “Supernatural” have been doing it even longer than that, if you really want to get technical about it.
It goes something like this: “…a secret order [defends] the world against creatures thought to be mythological, but which actually exist.”
The film will be based on the comic book of the same name by Ashley Wood and published by IDW Publishing.
Sonnenfeld is coming off the third “Men in Black” movie, the imaginatively titled “Men in Black III”. (Sonnenfeld has directed all three entries in the franchise.) Like previous “Men in Black” movies, the third time was, well, it was a Will Smith Summer action movie, is what it was, though Josh Brolin as a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones might have actually outshine him…
