Batman (voiced by “Terra Nova’s” Jason O’Mara) and Green Lantern (voiced by Justin Kirk of “Weeds” fame) team up to battle an alien menace in the first clip from D.C. and Warner Bros.’ latest direct-to-DVD original animated movie, “Justice League: War,” a direct sequel to last year’s “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.” You comic book fans out there already know that “Flashpoint” was the jumping off point for D.C. to reboot its universe … again.

Check out a clip and two new images from the upcoming animated movie below.

When the powerful Darkseid and his massive, relentless forces invade Earth, a group of previously unaligned super heroes – misunderstood and, in some cases, hunted by the authorities – discover the only way to fend off the attack will be to work together as a cohesive unit. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Shazam and, in his origin story, Cyborg combine their respective talents in an all-out battle to save the planet. Based on the 2012 graphic novel, “Justice League: Origin,” by Geoff Johns & Jim Lee, Justice League: War provides a glance into the world before the Justice League was created, and offers the initial animated incarnation of DC Entertainment’s “The New 52.”

“Justice League: War” arrives via Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digitial HD on February 4, 2014 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

I for one love the New52 reboot if for no other reason than the new Batman comics. Court of Owls was one of the best stories I have ever read.

I agree. I think the Batman stories have been really solid. I’m also intrested in the WW stories as well as the Earth 2, and GL stuff.

I can’t wait for this. I really like the animation and the idea of moving forward with stories and them being different but still New 52 based. Can’t wait for a Court of Owls flick or even Death of the Family. As for Aquaman not being a part of this movie even though he was in the story, he’s supposedly getting his own animated film, and I’m thinking it will be based on the “Throne of Atlantis” crossover between the JL and Aquaman.
Also before anyone starts complaining about O’mara as Batman they better get used to it because he was announced as being the official Batman for these for a little while at NYCC. I think they’re trying to keep as many voice actors as possible moving forward because these movies may have a conectivity that the previous ones didn’t. But that’s after the release of “Son of Batman” and “Assault on Arkham” later this year.

Is Captain Marvel Called Shazam now? does he not change after he says the name? i’ve been following New 52 but just JLA and batman for now. Havent gotten to any others yet.

Shazam stories were back ups in the JL issues, but were put together in their own trade paper back. Yes he is officially called Shazam now. Saying his name only transforms him from Billy if he says it with good intentions to help people, (kinda like being worthy to lift Thor’s hammer), just saying it casually doesn’t do anything. And it changes him back only at will.
