Batman Takes Flight in First Clip from The Dark Knight Returns Part 1

Batman The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 (2012) Movie Image

Get your first look at a clip from Warner/D.C.’s original animated movie “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1″, the first of a two-part epic movie adapting Frank Miller’s seminal 1980s Batman mini-series “The Dark Knight Returns”, which stars an older Caped Crusader coming out of retirement to bust some heads. I was hoping to see Supes in this thing, but I fear they’re going to remove that part of the story completely, which is too bad cause that could have been really cool. Of course, if Supes does show up in Part 1, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Batman has not been seen for ten years. A new breed of criminal ravages Gotham City, forcing 55-year-old Bruce Wayne back into the cape and cowl. But, does he still have what it takes to fight crime in a new era?

Featuring the voices of Ariel Winter, Peter Weller and Michael Emerson, and directed by Jay Oliva.

Bats returns on DVD/Blu-ray September 25, 2012. Part 2 is due in 2013.

They’re definitely saving the boyscout for Part II. No real doubt.

Can’t wait for this to come out. I’ve been burning through all the animated DC movies recently. Wonder if this will be the one to top Crisis On Two Earths and the greatness that is Owlman.

    • Dedpool

Yeah I love them too. Sad part is I’ve got half on DVD half on Blu-Ray. I may be rebuying Crisis, WW, and GL.

Loved James Woods as Owlman!! “Get off my plane!” He really was the best part of that movie. I like to watch that and Doom back to back.

By the by, has Joker’s voice actor been confirmed?

Hamill seems like a faint hope, but I man wants to dream.

No it hasn’t and probably because other than the “Batman, Darling!” line he doesn’t have any lines. I’m hoping its John DiMaggio who voiced him in “Under The Red Hood,” I love Hamil, but he’s said he’s done, and it’s time to pass the torch and DiMaggio was great. I’d also love to hear John Hamm, or even have Mark Harmon return as Superman.
