Man, D.C./Warner Bros. are really churning these movies out. The latest Batman original animated movie “Son of Batman” isn’t even out yet (it’s due next month), but the publisher and their Hollywood studio biddies are already gearing up the next one, “Batman: Assault on Arkham” for sometime this year.

The latest finds Bats going up against the Suicide Squad, the Joker, and the crazies of Arkham Asylum. Seriously, if I were Batman, I would just firebomb the crap out of that place and be done with it. Do you realize how many innocent people Batman has allowed to died by refusing to kill someone like the Joker? It’s gotta be in the thousands by now, right? Talk about being an enabler!

Anyways, “Batman: Assault on Arkham” pits bats not just against the Joker, but Amanda Waller and her Suicide Squad, including the likes of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Frost, Black Spider, King Shark and Captain Boomerang. Yeah, not exactly a bunch of formidable villains there. Harley Quinn is just some psychotic teenager in clown make-up, right? And Captain Boomerang, well, doesn’t he just throw boomerangs?

It’s a good thing Batman has all those wonderful toys to deal with this mess.

if I’m correct, this and Ghotam Knight are the only two DC Animated Movies with completly original plot.
I’m looking forward for this, even because it’s tied to the Arkham series, that is the best bat-product of the last 10 years (at least)

Emerald Knights had some original stories in it. the shorts were all originals, and the Wonder Woman and GL: First Flight movies had original takes on the origins.
The fact that this is tied to the Arkham universe is awesome! I am curious if it’s tied to the Arkham City Trilogy or the Origins arc.

Bout damned time! I’ve been curious as to whether it would be CG or just use character designs similar to the game. I’m thinking this may take place a little before Arkham Asylum, but still way after Origins.

at least the voices are back to normal. somewhat. The voices were pretty bad in son of batman, bring back Ron Perlman for Deathstroke please.

I loved Perlman as Deathstroke. I didn’t haye Thomas Gibson but it took a second watching to appreciate it. Everyone else I liked. I actually really like Jason O’Mara’s Batman and his Bruce Wayne. After Conroy, and Bruce Greenwood (Under The Red Hood, Young Justice) he’s become a favorite.

Also as much as I’m glad that CCH Pounder is voicing Waller (and would be a dead ringer to play her in her original iteration) I think that it’s smart to get new voices every so often. Especially when the material is different. Diedrich Badder was a great Batman for Brave and the Bold, but don’t think he’d work in the Arkham Games, but Greenwood would. My point is COnroy and Hamill are the best we’ve had for Bats and Joker, but they are by no means the ONLY voices. I STILL want John DiMaggio to get another spin as the Joker. Loved him in Under The Red Hood.

My beef with Son of Batman was that it seemed like batman and deathstroke were just trying to get a coarse voice.

Huh? Deathstroke’s voice wasn’t coarse at all. Kinda deep, and arrogant. Batman’s was, but it didn’t sound like it was trying, because his Bruce voice was already somewhat coarse. Much the way Conroy’s used to be, just a few octaves higher
