Tahmoh Penikett, whose name sounds like he came from the future (a future where humanity has fled killer, shiny robots, if you will), will be joining the cast of the CW’s superhero show “Arrow”. The former “Battlestar Galactica” and “Dollhouse” star will play Tom Salvati, the right-hand man to mob boss Frank Bertinelli (the previously cast Jeffrey Nordling) on the upcoming show.
The importance of Penikett’s casting is his character. Or rather, his character’s boss. Frank Bertinelli is the father of The Huntress, who will be played by the previously cast Jessica De Gouw, a recurring character herself, not to mention a potential love interest for the hero Arrow. Given that they’ve hired Penikett, a notable name to the fanboy crowd, you can probably expect that Tom Salvati won’t just be a lackey standing in the background throughout his tenure on the show.
The Huntress is scheduled to show up in the sixth episode of “Arrow”, so you can probably expect Penikett’s Salvati to show up around the same time or thereabouts.
Penikett isn’t the only name with geek cred to join the show. “Arrow’s” producers recently added former “Doctor Who” and “Torchwood” actor John Barrowman, who will be playing “a mysterious and wealthy guy who is an acquaintance of the Queen family and prominent figure in Starling City.”
“Arrow” premieres next month. Until then, check out some new promos and clips from the show:
