Moviefone‘s got a behind-the-scenes featurette for Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole”, his CG adaptation of Kathryn Lasky’s three-book series “The Guardians of Ga’Hoole”. Ol Zack sure knows how to sell a movie, doesn’t he?

Based on “Guardians of Ga’Hoole” by Kathryn Lasky, the animated “Legend of the Guardians” follows Soren (voiced by Jim Sturgess), a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie’s, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga’Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie’s. The film is based on the first three books in the series.

Featuring the voices of Emilie de Ravin, Abbie Cornish, Hugo Weaving, Geoffrey Rush, Helen Mirren, Jim Sturgess, Sam Neill, Ryan Kwanten, David Wenham, Miriam Margolyes, Jay Laga’aia, Emily Barclay, David Field, and directed by Zack Snyder.

Head to Ga’Hoole September 24, 2010.

Looks really good. The books sell relaly well (I used to work at a bookstore) and the story reminds me of something along the lines of “Secret of N.I.M.H.” and I love that film to this day. Now that's something I'd love to see remade. And if I can't get that let me at least get a “Mice Templar” flick.
