Ben Foster to Star in Army Drama The Messenger

Ben Foster is a damn fine actor. He was cool and bloody and totally scary in “3:10 to Yuma”, totally freaky in “30 Days of Night”, and for my money, his winged Warren Worthington III in “X-Men: The Last Stand” might be the best thing about the flick. Foster’s latest is a starring role in the military drama “The Messenger”, the plot for which is kind of hard to grasp, but I’m guessing he plays the guy who knocks on the doors of military families to tell them that their loved ones have died in uniform. I could be wrong, but that’s my guess.

Foster will play a young Army officer who is forced to work with a partner he can’t stand in the least desirable job in the military. His life becomes even more complicated when he falls in love with a soldier’s widow. Alessandro Camon co-wrote the script.
Production on “The Messenger” is set for April, and will be Oren Moverman’s directorial debut.
