Duncan Jones’ “Warcraft” movie, based on the bestselling “World of Warcraft” line of games, is piling up some impressive actors for its cast. Travis Fimmel and Paula Patton were previously cast as the film’s headliners, and now they’ll be joined by Ben Foster, Toby Kebbell, and Dominic Cooper.
A pretty impressive trio of additions there, folks. I would actually love to see a movie with just these three guys, but throw them into a fantasy setting with the guy behind “Moon” and “Source Code” calling the shots? Hell, “Warcraft” just went from a, “Huh, another movie based on a game, yeah, that’s gonna work!” title to a, “Huh, a movie with Duncan Jones directing and starring Foster, Kebbell, and Cooper? Damn, I gotta see this!”
Your mileage, as always, will vary depending on tastes and ability to discern acting talent.
And oh, Rob Kazinsky is also in this one, too. If don’t remember who Rob Kazinsky is, he’s the totally dickish guy from “Pacific Rim”.
No plot details are known for “Warcraft” yet, but I’m not worried. It’s Duncan Jones. Dude is crazy talented. I’m sure he’ll give us something good. Or if not, then I’m sure Paula Patton swinging a broadsword should be worth it.
The film was originally slated for 2015, but that might have now changed to 2016.
