Warner Bros. and D.C.’s “Batman: Year One” lands on DVD and Blu-ray October 18, 2011, and stars “Southland’s” Ben McKenzie as Bruce Wayne, a rich playboy who moonlights as the Caped Crusader, aka Batman. The “Year One” storyline is from the Frank Miller story arc from the ’80s, and is one of the best Batman story ever written. Of course, back in those days, anything Miller did was “the best ever written”, but man, he really had a bead on what made The Dark Knight tick, that’s for sure.
“Batman: Year One” traces the origins of Batman’s first year on the job, as he comes into contact with Jim Gordon (Bryan Cranston) for the first time, along with Selina Kyle aka Catwoman (Bryan Cranston). The original animated movie also co-stars “Battlestar Galactica’s” Katee Sackhoff as Gordon’s partner Sarah Essen and Alex Rocco as mobster Carmine Falcone.
Three videos of McKenzie talking about playing Batman in “Year One”, and three new images after that:
