Ben Walker No Longer Playing Beast in X-Men First Class

Mind you, not that I’m going to cry over this. I had no idea who Ben Walker (left) was before Showbiz411 told us he had nabbed the Beast role in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming “X-Men: First Class”, and I still don’t know (nor do I care to find out) who he is now that he’s left the project and gone back to Broadway to sing and dance and whatever it is people do in Broadway plays.

Showbiz411 gives some strange reason that, I’ll be honest, I had a hard time deciphering, and I’ve been doing this a while. The bottom line is that Walker is no longer playing Beast aka Hank McCoy, and has opted instead to return to theater.

On the bright side, the really important casting of James McAvoy as young Professor X and Michael Fassbender as Magneto are still on. Add to that the recent inclusion of Alice Eve as Emma Frost aka the White Queen, and the film is still progressing toward a start date.

“X-Men: First Class”, which chronicles the exploits of a young Professor X and Magneto before they became enemies, opens in 2011.

The glasses means he's smart.

Fox fired him because Tim Rothman wanted a younger Hank Mccoy in order to try and woo in the “Twighlight” fans. Then they tried to hire Walker back after all of the auditions for a younger Hank Mccoy failed. With that said,I would have given Fox the finger too.
