I remember Benjamin Bratt from “Law and Order”. After that? Not so much. Either he got really good at playing chameleon roles, or he just haven’t been in anything particularly noteworthy. (The pic of Bratt to the left is from 2009’s “La Mission”, in case you were wondering.) I hear he’s currently co-starring on the TV show “Private Practice”. I wouldn’t know, I don’t watch crap masquerading as one-hour TV dramas.
Anyhoo. Bratt has joined the cast of Ric Roman Waugh’s action thriller “Snitch”, and from the sounds of it, he’s the main bad guy in the movie.
Bratt will play a major Mexican drug dealer who the film’s hero exposes during his undercover snitch work for the Government. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will play the snitch, a suburban dad who agrees to the dangerous work in order to get his falsely accused teenage son’s jail sentence on a drug charge reduced.
“Snitch” also co-stars Susan Sarandon, Barry Pepper, Jon Bernthal, Melina Kanakaredes, Michael K. Williams, Rafi Gavron and Nadine Velazquez.
The film stars production in Shreveport, LA this week. Louisiana, coincidentally, is also where Johnson is currently shooting “G.I. Joe: Retaliation”. That’s him with a BFG below, by the way.
