Okay, so Andy Lau is evil only in the beginning, then he learns some humility and becomes a good guy. Come on, it’s Andy Lau. In any case, here’s the first trailer for Benny Chan’s “Shaolin” (which apparently has dumped the “Temple” part of its title), which features the all-star Chinese cast of Andy Lau, Nicholas Tse, Wu Jing, Fan Bingbing, Xing Yu and Jackie Chan. Via Twitch.
China is plunged into strife as feuding warlords try to expand their power by warring over neighboring lands. Fueled by his success on the battlefield, young and arrogant Hao Jie sneers at Shaolin’s masters when he beats one of them in a duel. But the pride comes before a fall. When his own family is wiped out by a rival warlord, Hao is forced to take refuge with the monks. As the civil unrest spreads and the people suffer, Hao and the Shaolin masters are forced to take a fiery stand against the evil warlords. They launch a daring plan or rescue and escape.
IMDB.com has the film as a 2011 release, but it’s looking more like a 2010 movie.
