Jeff Bridges in True Grit (2010) Movie Image

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love me my Westerns. Add the Coen Brothers, and this remake of “True Grit” has the makings of a real masterpiece. If nothing else, Jeff Bridges is just killing in this very brief teaser trailer for the movie. Check it out below, check it outers.

Fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross’s (Hailee Steinfeld) father has been shot in cold blood by the coward Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), and she is determined to bring him to justice. Enlisting the help of a trigger-happy, drunken U.S. Marshal, Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), she sets out with him — over his objections — to hunt down Chaney. Her father’s blood demands that she pursue the criminal into Indian territory and find him before a Texas Ranger named LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) catches him and brings him back to Texas for the murder of another man.

Starring Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin, Barry Pepper, Domhnall Gleeson, Hailee Steinfeld, Paul Rae, Elizabeth Marvel, Dakin Matthews, Nicholas Sadler, Ed Corbin, Joe Stevens and directed by the Brothers Coen.

Seeking justice December 25, 2010.

lets face it…John Wayne, in later years, became tedious….and as a result, threw a wet blanket on what otherwise would have been some great films….I absolutely cannot wait to see this version of “True Grit”…

I hate to disagree with you, but no one can come close to the Duke. I love my westerns too, but this doesn’t get me to excited. The last real good western was Silverado.
