Black Widow and The Punisher Get Their Own Avengers Animated Movie

Avengers Confidential Black Widow and Punisher (2014) Movie Image

Ever wanted to see the Punisher and Black Widow team-up? Well, here you go: “Avengers Confidential: Black Widow and Punisher” is an original animated movie from Marvel and the Japanese folks who make those very shiny Marvel movies like “X-Men,” “Wolverine,” and last year’s “Iron Man: Rise of Technovore.” The plot finds the two heroes (I don’t think you can actually call either one of them superheroes, right?) teaming up to save the world against some alien thingie.

Of course, they have to fight each other first, because what kind of comic book team-up would it be if they just showed up and joined forces? Perish the thought!

After interfering with a top secret mission, The Punisher is taken into custody by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and Avenger Black Widow. At the orders of Director Nick Fury, Punisher and Black Widow are sent on a mission to stop Leviathan, a global terrorist organization that plans to sell stolen S.H.I.E.L.D. technology to the highest bidder. Now, the vigilante and spy must work together to prevent this technology from falling into the wrong hands. The fate of the world, and of the Avengers, hangs in the balance.

Jennifer Carpenter voices Black Widow and Brian Bloom is The Punisher.

Stinging and punishing on DVD and Blu-ray March 25th.

Cool Stories From Zergnet

Marvel needs to let Madhouse Studios do all their adult animated films. It would truly set them apart from DC by utilizing the anime style to it’s fullest. They can still put out the chessy cgi flicks like HUlk/Iron Man and the upcoming Cap/Iron Man. But keep the anime flicks coming. This one actually looks pretty good.

I agreed at CGI crap is corny. DC have the animated movie franchise on lock. Marvel needs to go back to the Avengers style animation.

Agreed! Avengers: EMH and Spectacular Spider-man were some of their best works. As for the animated movies I liked a few of them, Planet Hulk, Hulk Vs, Next Avengers, Thor: Tales From Asgard, and Doctor Strange, but none of those were as good as the DC aniamted flicks. I liked the Marvel Animes too (though I wish they’d gone a bit further with them) but that art style really works for their characters. Rise of Technovore wasn’t great but it looked awesome. Just need good stories to go with these.

Maybe I’m biased but compared to Son of Batman and Justice League:War, this seems kinda meh.

No DC’s stuff is going to be better and I’m definitely more excited about those, but this looks decent too. DC has just been knocking them out the park from day one. Even the worst of the DC are better than most of the Marvel animated flicks.

Punisher as an Avenger is such a shocking thought that it pulls you right in. I loved the angle that they took in Ultimates with Frank being a darker mirror image of Cap. Hopefully this turns out cool.

Don’t think he’s an AVneger just being called in by SHIELD.

Like the old Punisher arcade game where Nick Fury helped Frank Castle.
