Take a look at a blood-splatterin’ behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of directors Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh’s “Act of Valor”, their military actioner starring real-life active-duty Navy SEALs. I used to have doubts about this claim, but no longer. I’m convinced this thing actually does star real Navy SEALs. I mean, if you’ve seen all the featurettes on the making of the movie, how could you not believe what they’re selling? By the way, I wonder if the SEALs showed up for the film’s premiere? Wouldn’t it be ironic if the real guys are in a war zone somewhere risking their lives while the movie they starred in is having a star-studded premiere in Hollywood?
When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the U.S., a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the valiant men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitment to country, team and their families back home.
Starring Roselyn Sanchez, Nestor Serrano, Gonzalo Menendez, Jason Cottle, Ailsa Marshall, Alex Veadov, and Drea Castro.
The SEALs shut’em down February 24, 2012.
