Bad Ass Red Band Trailer for The Rock’s Faster

Dwayne Johnson in Faster (2011) Movie Image

I gotta admit, I expected a movie like this from Dwayne Johnson a looooooong time ago. About the same time he busted loose with “The Rundown”, I expected him to jump right into badass action hero territory like “Faster”, but instead … well, instead he didn’t. Looks like he’s making up for it now, because “Faster” looks incredibly bloody and badass and right up my alley.

After 10 years in prison, Driver (Dwayne Johnson) has a singular focus – to avenge the murder of his brother during the botched robbery that led to his imprisonment. Now a free man with a deadly to-do list in hand, he’s finally on his mission…but with two men on his trail – veteran cop (Billy Bob Thornton) just days from retirement, and a young egocentric hitman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) with a flair for the art of killing and a newfound worthy opponent. The hunter is also the hunted. It’s a do or die race to the list’s finish as the mystery surrounding his brother’s murder deepens, and new details emerge along the way hinting that Driver’s list may be incomplete.

Starring Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino, Maggie Grace, Moon Bloodgood, Billy Bob Thornton, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Matt Gerald, Annie Corley, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and directed by George Tillman Jr.

Put the pedal to the metal November 24, 2010.

He shoots a dude who’s having surgery? Yes please, I’ll take two.
The more I see about Faster the more excited I get about it.

Looks like a lot of fun. I’m usually alright with ridiculousness in movies like this but the car taking off like a rocket straight up because it ramps off of a Ferrari is…a bit too much. Awesome to see Adewale in there.

To be honest, the cast is probably the only thing that will keep this from going straight to DVD…

That was trully BadAss! I can’t wait for this. A nice R-rated actioner featuring Dwayne. He definitely should be in the next Expendables. It would be finally acknowledging that he has become the action star he was intended to be, and be a great nod to Arnie’s cameo in “The Rundown.” Always new Dwayne had it in him, hut I think he wanted to cement his acting ability not his muscles. I mean if he can even slightly pull off the kiddie and family movies he was doing and not be bad in them, then he’s a decent actor. And you know what…I actually liked “The Gameplan” “Gridiron Gang” and even “The Tooth Fairy” for what they were. Fun family movies. I think everyone hated just because they wanted to see stuf like “Faster” from him earlier. Those movies may not have been blockbusters and some may even say they sucked, but The Rock didn’t. The movie maybe but not the actor.

Did we just see nearly all the death scenes in the movie?

  • The Strongest There Is

I dont know if anyone has brought this up yet, but about 4 years ago there was suppose to be a movie for the new spyhunter game that was being released. The Rock was suppose to be the main star and the movie never came out. This honestly looks like it could have been that movie. In one scene it even has the car from spyhunter. The Grey Sporty one. The movie looks sweet as hell and Im going to see it but I was wondering if there was any correlation between the two.

Hey TSTI. Didn’t notice the car but yeah I remember that, the game was actually made for the movie that never got made. I’d still like to see it. Maybe the car was just a nod to what was supposed to be.
