Brad Anderson Takes Over The Hive

Originally supposed to be directed by Joel Schumacher, Troika Pictures has found a new director to helm their serial killer thriller in “The Machinist’s” Brad Anderson.

Based on a script by Rich D’Ovidio, “The Hive” would follow a 911 operator who must face her own fears in order to save a teenage girl from a serial killer.

Halle Berry was originally attached to star in the film, but has since left the project. Word is, a lot of other actresses are interested in the part, and you have to figure Anderson’s name will entice them whereas starring in a movie by the guy who killed the Batman franchise might not have.

Anderson’s last movie was the horror film “Vanishing on 7th Street”, starring Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton and John Leguizamo as survivors who must contend with a world where shadowy creatures lurk about, ready to claim them. I always thought the film was better than most people gave it credit for, so I’m very intrigued by what Anderson can do with a serial killer movie like “The Hive”.
