Brad Pitt And Andrew Dominik’s Cogan’s Trade Set To Shoot In New Orleans

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie maintain a home in New Orleans, and now Scene Louisiana reports that Pitt will film the upcoming “Cogan’s Trade” in his adopted hometown. It will be the first film he’s shot in Louisiana since “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” in 2008.

“Cogan’s Trade” is an adaptation of George V. Higgins’ 1974 crime novel of the same name. Pitt will play Jackie Cogan, a mob enforcer who investigates the robbery of a big time, mafia protected, poker game. The film also reunites Pitt with “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” collaborators, director Andrew Dominik, and co-star Casey Affleck.

As you would expect, a project like this attracts a great deal of attention from major Hollywood stars. Big names rumored to be circling “Cogan’s Trade”, hoping to join the ensemble cast, include Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Bill Murray, Zoe Saldana, Sam Rockwell, and Mark Ruffalo.

Shooting is anticipated to begin in March, 2011.
