Brad Pitt as Thor: What Do You Think?

Forget for one moment that Marvel’s announced “Thor” movie no longer has a director, or even a star except a rumor about Brad Pitt being offered the role. What it does have is a sorta finished script by Mark Protosevic (”I am Legend”). Now forget all that stuff, and just concentrate on this question: Rumor has Marvel pursuing Brad Pitt to play the role of the Asgardian God of Thunder, Thor. What do you think about this potential casting?
For it, against it, don’t care?
And if not Brad Pitt as Thor, then who?

I like the idea of Karl Urban as Thor. and as Chase said, Tyler Mane (Sabretooth from X-Men) would be a good choice as well. I also think the guy that played “Chupa” in Blade 2 and was in the first “The Fast and Furious” would be an excelent choice.
What about matthew mcconaughey, he would make a good thor, and would rather see him as thor than captain america (rumor he will play cap in the new movie)

I agree with having HHH as Thor he has a Nordic look but Brad , come on !!!!!

YES! My brother and I were discussing this right after seeing the Incredible Hulk movie, and we both said “Arnold Schwarzenegger!” at the exact same time.
Brad Pitt or Triple H would not make a good Thor.
Pitt is not big enough. Thor is the God of Thunder! You need someone at least 6′2″. Also you need someone who can play a pompous arrogant charismatic character. I think Pitt lacks the pompous part as you need someone on an epic scale.
As for Triple H. Yea he kinda looks the part, but you need someone that can act. Someone that has on screen presence.
Arnold could play the part. He is pompous. He is arrogant. He is big enough. or at least was all of the afore mentioned from back in his Pumping Iron days.
McCoaughey would be a terrible Thor. That’s just bad casting.
Thor is bigger than life! It will be really hard to cast the right actor for this role.
I think the combo of Triple H as Thor and wrestler Edge as his “evil” brother Loki would be perfect. Or just Edge as Thor, he looks Nordic.
This is lame…people want someone who is:
a.) Big Enough
b.) and can act
You people are gonna have to make a choice…if anyone has seen Triple H in the past 6 months (at least) they would see the pompous, arrogant, charismatic characteristics flow (that IS him)…so at least he wouldn’t need to make that much of a stretch…
brad pitt would suck how about angelina as siff actualy that may not be bad but brad pitt weak n think of this i hear avengers for 2011 so ther gonna pay robert downy jr ed norton brad pitt and whoever else theres gonna be no budget left for a movie with paying all of them i think maybe karl urban from lord of the rings for thor
