Brad Pitt Battles the Zombiepocalypse in First World War Z Trailer

Brad Pitt in World War Z (2013) Movie Image

You’ve seen the 30-second preview trailer, now take a look at the rather impressive first official trailer for Brad Pitt and director Marc Forster’s “World War Z”, a film that has become popular among netizens and industry types for its troubled production (including reported extensive rewriting and shooting). The filmmakers are envisioning this as the first of a trilogy (who isn’t nowadays?), so let’s see what they got. I’m still not digging how fast the zombies are moving. Okay, I get it, fast zombies are cool with the kids (give me the Romero/”The Walking Dead” slow ones any day), but damn, these guys are FAST.

Also, I thought Pitt’s character was just some United Nations pencil pusher who goes around the world recording events of the zombie apocalypse. From the looks of this trailer, he’s more like some ex-super badass type fella who has to save the world. I could be wrong, of course.

“World War Z” also stars Eric West, Matthew Fox, David Morse, James Badge Dale, Mireille Enos, David Andrews, and Elyes Gabel.

The Zombiepocalypse begins June 21, 2013.

This trailer started out fantastic – loved the cop yelling at Brad Pitt to get back in the car – and then petered out somewhere around the point where they ripped off the ‘diving out the helicopter’ shot from Transformers 3.

Looks like the changed up the format. It’s not a series of interviews, but rather the actual War itself.

it’s pretty much just an average Zombie flick with world war z as the title, completely took a very unique book and made it average.

      • Tin Hoang

Yep. Just a standard actioner now.

So every rule and scientific specifications Max Brooks put down in his books are thrown right out the window, looks like 28 days later in america….

    • Tin Hoang

I’m sure they will work the rules and science of Brook’s book into the film, but looks like the threw out the entire concept of the book itself. US vs Zombies movie. It’s a more macro / top down look at 28 days later I guess.

them running already goes against the books

I’ve never read the books. I think that’s why I think this trailer looks very good.

A good ol’ Zombies on Red Bull movie!

    Looks good to me.
