Oh, those wacky basterds and their Nazi killin’ ways. Here are two new official stills from Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming World War II action movie “Inglourious Basterds”. The flick stars Brad Pitt as the head of an American unit sent behind enemy lines in Nazi-occupied France to kill some Nazi bastards. Er, I mean, basterds. The first image, with Pitt, looks like early in the movie, when Pitt’s character Lt. Aldo Raine addresses his Jewish-American recruits in a weird ass Southern accent about what’s in store for them. The second pic, I haven’t a clue, but I’m guessing it’s Christoph Waltz playing the film’s main bad guy, German badass Col. Hans Landa getting all wacky and what-not with some local gals. Hey, even Nazis need to cut loose, right?
In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds” are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers.
Starring Brad Pitt, Cloris Leachman, Diane Kruger, Mike Myers, B.J. Novak, Eli Roth, Samm Levine, Til Schweiger, Michael Fassbender, Julie Dreyfus, Daniel Brüh, and written and directed by Q.T.
The basterds invade cinemas June 2009.
