Brad Pitt to Remake Steve McQueen’s Bullitt
Bullitt (2008) Movie — By Nix on July 5, 2007
Is Brad Pitt cool enough to replace Steve McQueen? Well he better be, because according to M&C, Mr. Angelina Jolie is getting ready to step into McQueen’s shoes as police Lt. Frank Bullitt in an update/remake of the ’60s police actioner “Bullitt”. A source tells M&C: “Brad shares a lot of the same passions as Steve McQueen – including a love of motorbikes and fast cars – so it was a dream role for him.” Well okay then, that definitely qualifies Pitt to remake one of the coolest characters in modern cinema history. NOT.
The original film sees the tough detective hunting a hitman who has killed his fellow officers. The movie is renowned for featuring one of the best car chases in cinema history as McQueen’s Mustang car speeds through the rollercoaster streets of San Francisco.
Mind you, not that I’m against this remake or anything, it’s just silly that Hollywood is remaking every damn thing for no other reason except they can. It’s just ridiculous. Seriously, is it REALLY that hard to find a good writer, or a decent script nowadays, that 5 out of every 10 movie that comes out of the current Hollywood system is a remake?
I guess so.

Leave this film alone!!!!!
Give Brad Pitt his own Character.
Brad Pitt would better be suited to stick with roles he is more identified with. Being Angelina’s bitch….NOT Frank Bullitt! Hollywood needs to realize that remaking films that were already amazing films of their time is a stale approach to creativity. Leave the classics alone. They already have a life. Hollywood should get their own. NO….THE A REMAKE OF BULLITT! Especially with someone as effeminate as Brad Pitt.
Brad is crazy if he thinks he can pull this off, it’ll leave a bad taste in the mouth of anyone that’s seen the original.
How many more classics can Hollywood kill…
The Italian Job????
Oceans 11???
I mean, they even steal ideas from the computer industry.
Doom???
Max Payne???
Movie’s once fell under the heading of “entertainment”, but now it’s the “movie business”, anything goes as long as it makes a buck…
Don’t do it Brad…
