Steven Soderbergh and Warner Bros. may have finally found their George Clooney replacement to play Napoleon Solo. Variety says Bradley Cooper has emerged as the top candidate of the director, and that he’s likely to sign on the dotted line.
Of course, Cooper won’t immediately be able to do “UNCLE”. He’s currently shooting David O. Russell’s “The Silver Linings Playbook”, and he’s got Alex Proyas’ “Paradise Lost” waiting in the wings, where he’ll be playing the juicy role of Lucifer.
Based on the 1960s TV show, “The Man from UNCLE” follows two secret agents, the American Solo and his Russian partner Kuryakin as they battle the nefarious evildoers of THRUSH.
Now all they have to do is find someone to play Illya Kuryakin…
