Bradley Cooper Officially Confirmed as Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy

It sounded a tad ludicrous when we first heard it, but the source was pretty good, so I chalked it up as to a very good possibility. Turns out, it’s very much true.

Marvel has officially confirmed that Bradley Cooper will, indeed, provide the voice of Rocket Raccoon for James Gunn’s upcoming live-action “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie.

In the upcoming Marvel film, Rocket Raccoon is a gun-toting raccoon … in outer space. I shit you not. That’s him in the pic below:

Cooper joins fellow big-time actor Vin Diesel, who will be voicing Groot in the movie. Groot is a talking alien tree, though he doesn’t necessarily say that many words — at least in the comic books. They might have written in more dialogue for the character since they did snag Vin Diesel, after all.

Ironically, “Guardians of the Galaxy’s” two biggest stars are only doing, essentially, voice work cameos.

The film will star Chris Pratt as a human who ends up in outer space, leading a group of alien badasses including Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, along with the aforementioned talking space raccoon and the alien tree. Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, John C. Reilly, and Glenn Close are also in the cast.

This was always a good casting decision

I’m scared of this movie, I really can’t survive another disappointment like Iron Man 3.

I think you took that a little too hard and a little too seriously. I really was kind of sad we didn’t get a full on Mandarin at first, but I liked what they did. I applaud any changes that actually work well for the story, and I think theirs did. Hell we could still get a version (doubtful) with the character of Temujin (Mandarin’s son) after Avengers 2 or three.
As for GoTG chill, it should be a really fun ride. Dirty dozen in space Marvel style.

Bradley Cooper has the perfect voice for Rocket. In my mind, I picture his voice to be similar to Starfox, and Cooper would play a great Starfox.

I’m okay with this. I would’ve rathered, Simon Pegg, or something but Cooper is actually a very good choice for the character. Take the over the top aspect of his version of Face from A-Team and that’s pretty much perfect.
