Thanks to the “Hangover” movies and his recent showing in David O. Russell’s “Silver Linings Playbook”, Bradley Cooper is a wanted man in Hollywood these days. Or at least, the folks at Warner Bros. really, really likes him.
The latest book to be bought for Cooper by Warner Bros. is James Renner’s serial killer mystery novel “The Man From Primrose Lane”, with studio snapping up the book’s movie rights with plans to, once again, develop it as a starring vehicle for Cooper.
“Primrose Lane” will follow “true-crime writer David Neff, who, in investigating the strange murder mystery of a recluse known as “the man with a thousand mittens,” quickly becomes obsessively embroiled in a chain of serial murders. The closer Neff comes to uncovering the true identity of the Man from Primrose Lane, the more he discovers his own dangerous connection to the series of crimes. He realizes in order to end the cycle of death and capture the killer he must look outside the parameters of what he believed to be true about time and space.”
Wow. Time and space? Is this a horror book or a sci-fi book? Both, perhaps?
Anyways, this is the third book that Warner Bros. has bought for Cooper to star in, including “American Sniper” from 2012 and “Dark Invasion” from earlier this year. Personally, I’m still hoping he’ll do “American Sniper”. I’ve read the book, and it would make one hell of a military drama. But seeing as how it’s been a year since we’ve heard anything on that end, that’s probably not going to happen.
