Brandon Routh’s Dylan Dog Finally Gets a U.S. Release Date

Australia-based Omnilab Media has acquired Brandon Routh’s comic book/horror/action movie “Dylan Dog: Dead of Night”, and will be releasing it in the States through Freestyle Releasing on April 29, 2011. More good news: this will be a wide release, not a limited theatrical run (usually to satisfy contract obligations), so if you’ve been waiting to get a visit from “Dylan Dog” at your local theater, chances are good he might actually show up.

The long-delayed “Dylan Dog” is based on the best-selling Italian horror comic book of the same name by Tiziano Sclavi, and stars former “Superman Returns'” Brandon Routh as a PI for the undead. The film co-stars Routh’s “Superman Returns” buddy Sam Huntington (Jimmy Olsen in the Singer reboot), along with Taye Diggs, Peter Stormare and Icelandic beauty Anita Briem.

Kevin Munroe, who previously directed the CG “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie in 2007, directed from a script by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer.
