With AMC’s “Breaking Bad” wrapping up their illegal activities sooner rather than later, the cast are wise to start looking for work elsewhere. Co-star and Emmy winner Aaron Paul already has that figured out. He’s started showing up in movies, and in 2014, he’ll be fronting a potential new action franchise in “Need for Speed”, based on the popular series of racing games from Electronic Arts.
Paul has reportedly signed on for the male lead in the upcoming racing film for Dreamworks, which is already scheduled to be directed by Scott Waugh (one of the two men who gave us last year’s surprise hit “Act of Valor”). “Need for Speed” the movie, besides the racing theme and title, won’t be based on any one entry in the gaming franchise, but will instead feature an original story by screenwriting siblings George and John Gatins.
Shooting on “Need for Speed” is already set for early next year, with a February 7, 2014 release date penciled in.
