It looks like Brian K. Vaughan’s “Runaways” is finally get on track, with Deadline reporting that Marvel has assigned directing duties to “Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist” director Peter Sollett. The comic, described as “‘The Breakfast Club’ with superheroes”, also featured stories by Joss Whedon, and centers on the children of supervillains who decide to buck their parent’s history by becoming superheroes instead of bad guys. The in-demand Vaughan, who also has “Y: The Last Man” gestating in development hell, is expected to script the big-screen treatment of his comic book.

I only read a couple of issues of the first run and it was phenomenal. I really liked what they did. I almost wish they were the kids of more famous villains, but it was a cool concept. Love to see a reverse of that. This could be really cool.
