Indie marketing is odd. You’re now liable to get clips from a movie before the trailer. That’s, you know, kind of odd in my book. We’ve already seen two clips from the Brit Marling-written “Sound of my Voice”, but here’s the first official trailer for the movie. Indie darling Marling also stars in the film, about a woman who claims to be from the future who starts a cult. Two investigative journalists infiltrate said cult to get to the bottom of it and end up being drawn into her web. Yeah, I really don’t like where this one is going, folks, especially for the guy…

In SOUND OF MY VOICE, Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), a couple and documentary filmmaking team, infiltrate a mysterious group led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie (Brit Marling). Intent on exposing her as a charlatan and freeing the followers from her grip, Peter and Lorna start to question their objective and each other as they unravel the secrets of Maggie’s underworld.

Starring Christopher Denham, Nicole Vicius, and Brit Marling. Zal Batmanglij directs.
