Hey, it’s a big galaxy, so there’s more than one spot for a lovely actress beside Zoe Saldana and, er, the other guys in James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
Trade reports have actress Ophelia Lovibond (“220.127.116.11” and “London Boulevard” with Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley) joining the cast of Marvel’s space-set saga, which will star Chris Pratt as a human pilot who joins a rag-tag group of would-be intergalactic saviors known collectively as the Guardians of the Galaxy. That’s a mighty big job, hopefully they’ll be up to the task.
Sci-fi go-to gal Zoe Saldana would play the green-skinned assassin Gamora, while WWE’s Dave Bautista will put his wrasslin’ aside to play the green-skinned Drax the Destroyer. Meanwhile, “The Walking Dead’s” Michael Rooker was also previously cast as the blue-skinned Yondu.
No word on who Lovibond will be playing, or what color her character’s skin will be. I’m sure it’ll be lovely, though.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” is set to shoot this June for a August 1, 2014 release date.
