Bruce Willis is an Older Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Rian Johnson’s Looper

You gotta love the premise of “Brick” director Rian Johnson’s upcoming new movie “Looper”. Well, if you’re a fan of time travel movies, anyway. It also helps if you thought all those “Star Trek: The Next Generation” time travel stories were aces, and you’re more than a passing fan of the “Terminator” movies, then you’ll get a kick out of what Johnson is trying to do with “Looper”.

According to Deadline, “Loopers are hit men whose victims are sent back in time from the future to be executed. The Loopers bump them off in the present, so there is no trace of a crime in the future.”

It’s been known for a while now that Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who starred in Johnson’s most excellent “Brick”, will be playing the lead in “Looper”. Now Bruce Willis has been cast as the future version of Gordon-Levitt’s character. Time travel is no virgin territory for Willis; he’s already jump back and forth in time in Terry Gilliam’s “12 Monkeys”, and I suppose you can also add the Disney movie “The Kid”, too.
