Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is releasing a bunch of these “power piece” featurettes and have been for the last few weeks. Most of them are kind of pointless. Like the ones on Wolverine and Mystique. By now, if you’re interested in seeing this movie, you already know all about Wolvie and the blue chick, so what’s the point? To fill out space between the movie’s release, of course.
But the one that was interesting to me is this piece on Quicksilver, played by Evan Peters in the movie. Singer’s Quicksilver hasn’t been getting a lot of love from fans, mostly because, let’s face it, Singer isn’t Joss Whedon, and you know fanboys and Joss Whedon. Plus, the funky ’70s wardrobe probably didn’t help, either.
Anyways, check out a quick power piece on Quicksilver’s abilities, which also happens to have a ton of footage showcasing his powers in action. Given that Quicksilver only appears for a limited time in the movie (after all, there are like a billion other X-Men to service), this brief featurette could very well be the bulk of the speedster’s appearance in the movie.
“X-Men: Days of Future Past” opens later this month, May 23rd.
