X-Men Days of Future Past (2014) Movie Title Banner

Talk about going overboard. Empire Magazine has scheduled a whopping 25 different covers for their upcoming issue that features the characters (good and bad) from Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” I guess they really, really love their X-Men. You’ll be able to check out and buy (if you’re inclined) all 25 covers over at Empire.

Until then, we’ve posted the covers that they have released so far, beginning with a Sentinel and ending with a very good look at Quicksilver. There are 17 more to come. Yikes. They are coming, slowly, one by one…

The X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.

Starring Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halley Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, and Lucas Till.

From covers to the big screen this May 23rd.

interesting. I’m still excited about this but still kinda worried. But So far I like…even Quicksilver..

    • Juggernaut

Quicksilver looks awful! I like the looks for the other characters though. Still think that the Sentinels should be bigger. Toad looks cool but why is he so drastically different looking than his first appearance? They did the same thing for Sabretooth in XO:Wolverine too. It just doesn’t make sense. The Magneto cover looks great! Saw it on another site.

Becuase you want a costume, and we got 70’s style clothes. I think with that take they did okay. As for Toad I hear you. Looks more like a MIB reject. Sentinels will be different sizes from what i’m hearing as we’ll get different versions.

      • BoomTube77

The sentinels should definitely be bigger….plus they look like they should be in a vodka commercial or something too! lol. They look cheesey…

    • ErickKwon

More than any of the other characters, it’s going to be key that he doesn’t look funny in motion.

      quick silver here is bullshit!!

  • Juggernaut

I’m sorry but no. That does not remotely resemble Quicksilver. I get what they’re going for. I really do. It just looks terrible. If they were supposed to be in the 80’s maybe. Even then the hair looks stupid and the overall look just doesn’t work for me. However, Beast looks really good. As does the rest of the cast. Toad wouldn’t be so bad if we had never seen him look the way that he did in the first film but the fact that he doesn’t look like Ray Park did in 2000 X-Men is just bad continuity IMO.

X-men films and continuity issues go hadn in hand my friend. As for Quicksliver, we know he doesn’t look like the comic version. It’s not even the clothes really that make it look bad its the actual silver hair. It looks silly. It should be white like Magneto’s or a silvery blonde. The outfit fits the era, and look fo a 70’s punk kid.

      • Juggernaut

This was their cha nce to fix the continuity issues that have plagued the series and tie up a few of the loose ends. Instead it seems like they are just creating even more. It just seems like a wasted opportunity to have their franchise fixed and be a more cohesive whole.

You never know until you see the movie. It may end up on some kind of Star Trek Reboot.

      • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

That said I don’t think he looks good. I just get what they’re going for. But It’s definitely the silver hair that makes it look SO bad.

I don’t know if it’s been addressed by Singer yet, but what the hell with future Wolverine and metal claws?

    • Juggernaut

It hasn’t been addressed yet in any articles that I’ve seen but I’d imagine that it will be expained in the film. He has the bone claws in the shirtless pic. It will be interesting to see how they spin that for sure. I’m also looking forward to the explaination of young Xavier walking and old Xavier back from the dead!

      • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

Those are the things I’m trying to figure out as well. Maybe Magneto gives him back the adamantium for his claws, and Xavier doesn’t really look like that he’s using telepathy to create his visage, but then why is he crippled? The floating chair is sick!

        • Juggernaut

I really like the hover chair too! Althoough I saw this concept art for the movie the other day and I think that I like the first one on there I like a bit more than the one used in the film. It looks more like the one from the 90’s and I’m a sucker for that era.

          • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

Love that look too, but in this day and age and especially in the future that’d be too bulky.

          • Juggernaut

            Agreed.

  • sin isfree

    that is one sad shitsilver

  • Juggernaut

Blink and Sunspot look great! Really hope that we see the blacked out look at some point for Sunspot. They could have done a better job on Warpath (who now has the ability to fly for some reason?!?!?!?!).

    • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

What more do you want with Warpath? I mean if they went full on comic book then he’d look silly. I always thought that costume (Thunderbird then Warpath’s) was a bit, hokey and too much “I’m an Indian!!” I like the current ones that keep the colors, and some of the motiff, but isn’t such a glaring stereotype. As for the ability to fly, better than what they gave Thunderbird in the 80’s cartoons, the ability to turn into animals.

      • Juggernaut

I can see the sterotypical native american look being ditched I was talking more about the fact that he isn’t very big. A bit of red mixed in would have been cool too. They gave Sunspot some yellow. I guess he may be cooler in the movie.
On the other hand I love the look of Colossus and Bishop! The future sentinel I wasn’t on board with at first but then I read the article on Empire’s site with the production designer and it made a lot more sense. However, I really hope that we see a traditional version of them on screen at some point.

        • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

Closest we’re getting is the one in the past. I think they were trying to get away from the uniform Iron Man/Doctor Doom look. put IM, Doom and a senitnel head next to each other and they are very similar.

        • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

Maybe they didn’t want size to equal strength. Letting his size hide it.

I agree with some of the other posters. I’m disappointed with the covers. We get it, they’re superheroes.
