Bullet Squibs and Psychos Aplenty in Smokin Aces 2: Assassins’ Ball Trailer

After taking a look at the trailer for “Smokin’ Aces 2: Assassins’ Ball”, you can’t help but agree with Universal: yeah, this is definitely not theatrical worthy stuff here. If anything, it looks like your run-of-the-mill direct-to-DVD action movie, the kind that usually stars Wesley Snipes and shot around the bombed out looking streets of some unnamed Eastern European country. Here’s the first trailer for the Joe Carnahan-produced (but not directed or really written by, disappointingly enough) prequel to his moderate hit “Smokin’ Aces”. It’s called “Assassins’ Ball”, and it’s about bad guys, more bad guys, and even more bad guys trying to kill some guy played by Tom Berenger. Basically, watch it for the exploding bodies and never mind that whole empathy thing.

Is that dude with the goatee supposed to be Ray Liota’s character from the first film? Yeah this looks like one of my completionist guilty pleasures. One that I kinda have to have to complete the set whether I really like it or not. At leas the action looks fun.
