Hopkins as ODIN??? Now you can expect an awesome movie. And Chris Hemsworth is the EXCELLENT choice for Thor! I’m looking forward to seeing this movie, I hope it surpasses Batman and Spiderman!

Um wow. How are you getting that? Branagh is directing, and he wouldn’t allow something like that in front of his camera. I mean seriously! If anything he may not have read one, but he does his research man. He’s a classicly trained Shakespearean actor, and director of films based on the plays. He knows how to film a period piece, and all about getting amazing costumes and such. If any comicbook movie could use his experince with Shakespeare it’s Thor, though they’ve said they won’t be speaking in that faux Shakepearean english. I think I’m going to have to agree with Ulik, as we have been talking back and forth about this movie anyway. I think it will be the next big fantasy flick after Clash of the Titans hits.

As usual, this seems like it will be a movie fulll of predictable outcomes, stereotypical characters and cliché scenes. Once again they will spoil a great character with lots of potential. These types of movies, with the exception of Batman the Dark Night, are always cliché, overdone and unoriginal. As soon as i read the basic scenario i knew this one would be the same. Even without having seen it i know how its gonna be: a Thor, looking like something out of a Power Rangers Medieval special, fighting CG monster dinosaurs roaring every 10 seconds…overdone and BORING. And why Brannagh? i bet he hasnt read a comic book in his life. He won’t know how to portray the character in the right way. Why dont they just let Chris Nolan do it, i mean he did a Great job on Batman…

OMG!!!This is incredible news!!!! Hopkins was my first choice initially as Odin, then I heard news about Brian Blessed being rumored as Odin then news about Stellan Skarsgard possibly being Odin also but Hopkins is BY FAR THE GREATEST CHOICE!!! Hopkins is an incredible actor with profound screen presence, him alone could carry this movie. This movie quite possibly might be Marvel’s first serious all out epic classic even possibly surpassing Iron Man especially in stellar performances.No doubt critics,fanboys,and even the average joe will like this movie. The will just have to do some camera tricks to make Hopkins look as tall as Chris Hemsworth and some “300″esque effects for Odin’s musculature. Althogh Odin is old,he definitely is not short and chubby.
