That is still one clunky title, but I guess since they got away with it on the first movie two years ago, they’re continuing the trend with “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”, the sequel to the sci-fi hit “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”. Speaking of apes, here’s another look at King Ape himself, Caesar (once again being mo-capped by Andy Serkis) leading his army to, we assume, some ape-y shenanigans in Matt Reeves’ upcoming sequel.
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
Starring Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo, Karin Konoval, and Judy Greer.
The apes dawn next year, July 18, 2014.
