You either dig the “Call of Duty” line of games or you hate them with a passion. Honestly, I’ve never seen so much hate for something from people who claims to care so little for it. You’d think that if you didn’t like something, you’d just, you know, ignore it. Not so much when it comes to the “Call of Duty” games. In which case, those guys are gonna HATE today and the next few weeks, because Treyarch has just released the reveal trailer for their newest installment in the world best-selling game, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2”. And get this — it’s now set in the future, apparently.
Hunh. I didn’t see that coming. The first “Black Ops” was set in the past — and gradually moved forward through history. A pretty good storyline, as I recall. I wasn’t sure where they were going after that — but I certainly didn’t think they would move the franchise into the future. The biggest draw about the COD games for me has always been the real-life weapons you get to frak online fools with. So now what, they’ll be making up guns? I honestly don’t know how I feel about that…
But hey, maybe that’s just me. Check out the trailer below and judge for yourself.
(By the way, it’s been such a long time since I played the “Black Ops” campaign, I don’t even know if there are any familiar characters in the trailer. This is what happens when all you do with the COD games is play the online multiplayer. Heh.)
As with all the COD games, “Black Ops 2” will be available in November — November 13, 2012, to be precise. Just in time for Holiday buying season. I’m sure it’s all just a coincidence, though.
