Call of Duty: Black Ops is the Bestselling Game in the History of Videogames

For realsies, kids.

As a sign of its record-breaking, history-making muscle, the title, which was released in November of last year, was STILL #1 LAST MONTH, beating out “Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds”, “Killzone 3”, and “Dead Space 2”. Sales for the title surpassed the $1 billion dollar mark even before 2010 came to an end. Yeah, I think it’s safe to say that it did pretty damn well.

Personally for me, I think the reason why “Black Ops” continues to do so well is that it got a lot of things right. While the graphics aren’t quite on par with, say, “Modern Warfare 2” (same game franchise, but different developers), it did get right a lot of other things. For one, making it impossible to cheat or “glitch”, thanks to the fact that every single game you play online with other players can now be seen BY those other players. Hence, any cheaters can be easily reported and your asses banned and your stats reset. To a 12-year old kid who goes through the trouble to cheat or “boost”, this is a death sentence. Stupid 12-year old cheating kids.

And I’m still digging the game, because I just bought the DLC “First Strike” that they released last week. Hate every single new map except for Stadium, of course, but that’s neither here nor there.
