Cannes Promotional Poster for the Steampunk Martial Arts Flick Tai Chi 0

The last I’d heard, director Stephen Fung’s upcoming steampunk-flavored kung fu outing “Tai Chi 0″ wasn’t expected to arrive until sometime next year. Following a promotional stint at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, we’ve learned that this potentially awesome martial arts flick will hit Chinese theaters this fall. Not surprisingly, this news makes me quite happy. 2012 is currently shaping up to be a fantastic year for those of us who live and breathe martial arts movies.

Check out the official synopsis:

A gifted child with a fleshy growth on his forehead travels far to learn Tai Chi and eventually becomes a master. He then faces an army of steampunk invaders and protect the villagers.

“Tai Chi 0″ stars Yuan Xiaochao, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Angelababy, Eddy Peng, William Feng, Yuan Biao, and Jade Xu Huihui, with fight choreography by none other than Sammo Hung. Awesome? Could be. The latest poster, as well as the previously-released teaser, have been embedded in the space below.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)
