Captain America Ready To Roll Without A Cast And Good Green Lantern News

According to the fine fellas over at Fangoria, principal photography for the as yet un-casted “Captain America” is set to roll in June of 2010. That’s pretty soon. No casting news yet. Will it be Sam Worthington? He’s in everything else. Why not? I’m thinking the good Captain is going to have to be pretty buff so 6 months is going to have to be enough time for someone to get in fighting trim.

In other superhero news, the production team is in place for “Green Lantern” starring Ryan Reynolds. These guys are good so I’m hoping the Green won’t be another Wolverine. Thanks /Film for the bullets.

  • Cinematographer Dion Beebe (Memoirs of a Geisha, Chicago, Equilibrium, Collateral)
  • Production designer Grant Major and costume designer Ngila Dickson (Lord of the Rings trilogy)
  • Art director François Audouy (Avatar, I Am Legend, Watchmen, Transformers, the Spider-Man” trilogy)

I completely agree with you…had this been 8-10 years ago. Yes he still looks the part. But he’s too old. They are starting at the begining, and Steve Rogers needs to be young. Early to mid-20s. I say this only because it’s a franchise. Had it been one solo movie with Cap in the present, I’m all for Jane.

I have to agree that thomas Jane chose the wrong Super Hero. He was still way too clean cut as The Punisher no matter how much they tried to make him gritty.

I dunno. I liked Ray Stevens, he definitely looks the part more. But Jane gave it a more human approach. He wasn’t this giant of a dude running around with an arsenal. He thought it through because it was personal. Also having it set during the day, in Florida didn’t help. Had it been set in NYC like “War Zone” and had all the crazy action, it would’ve been an awesome movie. Jane seems more the type to play Sgt. Rock though. I could definetly see him playing that part. He’d also be a better candidate for Johnny Blaze if you ask me.
