Carrie Unleashes Her Fury in First Full Trailer

Chloe Moretz in Carrie (2013) Movie Image

Evil teenagers, bible thumping moms, the prom of a lifetime, and oh yeah, wicked psychic powers. What could possibly go wrong? Check out the first full trailer for Kimberly Peirce’s “Carrie”, a remake of the ’70s Brian DePalma movie starring Hit-Girl herself, Chloe Moretz as the psychic teen with the major mommy issues and popularity hang-ups. Yes, no more teaser for the teaser trailer.

The most amazing part about this remake of “Carrie” is that the star can not only past for a teenager, but she actually is a teenager. How’s that for a novel idea, kids?

The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

“Carrie” also stars Julianne Moore as psycho mom, along with Judy Greer, Gabriella Wilde, Alex Russell, Max Topplin, Portia Doubleday, Cynthia Preston, and Connor Price.

Carrie gets all carried away this October 18, 2013.

Looks really good. Definately checking this one out!

Me too!! Did you ever see the mini-series remkae from a few years back? it wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great either.

Well, this trailer brings out pretty much the whole movie.

Carrie should have remain an untouched classic. Although I like Chloe Moretz just fine, she’s not even the shadow of Sissy Spacek. She doesn’t look like an outcast and certainly doesn’t look like a girl who can be bullied.

Spacek did looked like a victim and you felt pretty protective of her, which makes the end rather creepy. She could sell her eyes in an incredible way.

Also, Piper Laurie as the mom was uncanny. I don’t feel the same way with Juliane Moore (even when I have a crush on her).

Very sad. Another classic ruined by studios. Just like they did with the remake of The Omen.

You do realize that there was a book first, and this is not a remake of the film, but another adaptation of the book right? As long as there is source material to use, even if it’s been used before, Hollywood will re-use it and try to update it for a more modenr era. Carrie is a classic, but that version is dated no matter how good it is. See Richard Matheson’s “I am Legend”, “Three Musketeers,” etc.

        What’s a book?

        • Nix

Something my grandpapa used to tell me people “read”. Whatever that means.

I think you mean “reed,” like something that grows in a swamp.

          • Nix

            Tru dat.

    I would prefer Mia Wasikowska

This trailer’s seem so interesting. I think Carrie will have a memorable character

why mess with classics with this one? look at the sequel THE RAGE-CARRIE 2.
It failed to capture the essence of the original and the poor girl looked nothing like
sissy spacek. look at that crappy PROM NIGHT remake! like CARRIE, this film
wasn’t like the original 1980 version with the late Leslie Nelson of THE FORBIDDON
PLANET and AIRPLANE! fame. there wasn’t a single story about a masked ninja
seeking revenge against those punks who’d played a deadly game as this sister
in an abanded house dated back in the mid 70’s and not even a saturday night
fever-like discoteque in a gym with kids dancing around on the disco floor.
one of the girls appeared on SLEDGE HAMMER and michelle scalabelle also
appeared on ALIENATION-THE SERIES. Let’s hope there’ll never be a remake
of BLOODY BIRTHDAY as mentioned in the FANGORIA magazine!
