A trio of casting news for ya, today, staring with Colin Farrell joining Anthony Hopkins in the serial killer movie “Solace”, from director Afonso Poyart.
In “Solace”, an FBI detective who seeks the help of a retired and reclusive doctor (Hopkins) to “try and solve a series of grisly murders. The doctor was a wiz at the murder game, but lost his mojo when his daughter died tragically. Desperate, the detective presses the doctor to come out of retirement for one more case.”
Farrell will play the serial killer who battles Hopkins.
Meanwhile, “Act of Valor” director Scott Waugh’s latest movie “Need for Speed” (“based” on the EA game franchise of the same name) has added former Batman Michael Keaton to its cast.
Keaton joins Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots, Kid Cudi, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malik and Harrison Gilbertson.
“Breaking Bad’s” Paul will play “a local street racer who partners with a rich and arrogant business associate (Cooper), only to find himself framed by his colleague and sent to prison. After his stint in the joint, he joins a New York-to-Los Angeles race to get revenge. But when the ex-partner learns of the scheme, he puts a massive bounty on the racer’s head, forcing him to run a cross-country gauntlet of illegal racers in all manner of supercharged vehicles.”
Keaton will play “the reclusive and eccentric host of an underground supercar race where he invites the best drivers from around the world.”
And finally, it appears actress Jane Levy is looking to make it two horror movies in a row. The actress, soon to be seen battling demons in the “Evil Dead” remake, will be battling a new kind of evil in her new movie “In a Dark Place”.
The Bharat Nalluri-directed film will find Levy playing “a young American woman who moves to England to become a governess of a porcelain doll, which the family treats as its own son. When the family leaves for a holiday, the woman begins to think the doll is haunted and may be alive.”
English people. Am I right?
“In a Dark Place” will shoot this May.
